Lai Sio Kit
Born in 1983 in Macao, Lai Sio Kit is a graduate of the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA). He is currently the director of the Chinese Artists Association, vice president of the Macao Art Association and president of the Macao Youth Art Association. As an art activist who straddles between creation and education, he is also the founder and Art Director of the Pangaea Art Education Centre, and has taught in many universities in Macao, building a chain of aesthetic transmission from the academy to society.
Lai Sio Kit's creations have been labelled as ‘the visual coder of Macau's urban poetics’ - from the crinkled texture of rooftops viewed from above, to the slices of private rooftops framed by telescopes; from the weathering marks of century-old bricks and tiles, to the topography of light and shadows in the reinforced jungle. He dissects the texture of the city with a camera-like gaze, and through the overlapping materiality of the oil paintings, he translates the skin of the buildings into a ‘skin file’ that carries the collective memory. This unique syntax between topographical investigation and lyrical abstraction has formed a highly recognisable aesthetic specimen of contemporary Macau.
His works have been exhibited in four consecutive exhibitions at the Oriental Museum of Portugal (Lisbon), the National Art Museum of China (Beijing), the Minsheng Art Museum (Beijing), and the Art Warehouse Gallery (Shanghai), and have been selected for four times in the National Art Exhibition, which is the most prestigious exhibition of China's art world. He has been nominated for the Oriental Foundation's Grand Prize for Plastic Arts and the John Moore Painting Prize (China), and his works are in the collections of the Oriental Foundation of Portugal, the Macao Museum of Art, and other institutions, as well as in important private collections in many countries.

Light is the main way to lead human beings into the virtual world. I use rainbow as an element to form a spectrum of light, and I also add elements such as information, sound and positioning into my works to form a visualized abstract space, like a map of the new world created by human beings together. I hope that the viewers will reflect on the state of existence of human beings while watching my works.

(Morning Star)
Morning Star
This watercolor on wood portrays the ocean-themed toys of my three-year-old daughter. In the composition, a whale and a clownfish swim side by side—symbolizing the companionship and protection shared between mother and child. The star-shaped ornaments and the surrounding scenes are drawn from everyday life, documenting her journey through childhood and the landscapes we have explored together.
The title Morning Star evokes the moment when darkness gives way to the coming light. May her path forward be guided by starlight, always leading her toward brightness and hope.
Light is the main way to lead human beings into the virtual world. I use rainbow as an element to form a spectrum of light, and I also add elements such as information, sound and positioning into my works to form a visualized abstract space, like a map of the new world created by human beings together.

LIANG JIA HUI

Working primarily in oil painting, the artist frequently employs a distinctive approach that merges two-dimensional surfaces with three-dimensional spatial expressions. Through careful composition and visual language, she conveys her unique worldview. Her artistic themes often explore social phenomena, inner loneliness, and human relations, inviting viewers to reflect on and engage with these significant issues.

By reshaping the SHANSHUI through the symbols of precious consumer goods—such as diamonds, gold, and traditional silk—this approach seeks to dissolve the landscape narratives derived from the Other’s mirror. It aims to transform these cultural codes into a macro-aesthetic vision, thereby offering a new articulation of aesthetic power.

Maps symbolize an era—they are the成果 of humanity's exploration, documentation, and even division of the world, encompassing both the advancement of civilization and the desire for power. They serve as blueprints for people’s ideal worlds. This work is based on travelogues, maps, and other documents left by Western travelers, explorers, and missionaries of the time, imagining the Eastern world through their experiences. It depicts the dazzling casino architecture and the crowded, traffic-filled streets of Macau on a pseudo-historical map. Tracing back to the beginnings of colonial expansion during the Age of Discovery, it explores issues faced by different cities and places, such as development, decolonization, and population migration.
